What Happens During a Design Preview

The step that turns "I think I want a walk-in shower" into "I can see exactly what this is going to look like in my bathroom."

Unique Bath of Seattle Design Preview process — starts with a photo of your current bathroom, renders a realistic preview of the new shower, and ends with the finished install
The Design Preview process — a photo of your current bathroom becomes a realistic rendering of your future shower, then your finished install.

One thing most national bath-remodel chains skip: showing you what your actual bathroom will look like before you commit. They'll hand you a stack of small color swatches and a printed catalog, and ask you to imagine.

We do it differently. Before any in-home estimate visit, before any conversation about pricing, you can use our Design Studio to pick your wall pattern, hardware, door, and accessories — and we'll send back a hand-rendered preview of your real bathroom with the combination you chose.

This guide walks through exactly how the preview process works: what we need from you, what you get back, and how the preview shapes the final estimate.

The full four-step process

1

Design

Pick your wall pattern, hardware finish, door style, and accessories in the Design Studio.

2

Preview

We send back a hand-rendered preview of your real bathroom with your chosen combination.

3

Estimate

Free in-home visit. Precise measurements, exact pricing, no high-pressure sales.

4

Install

Our crew installs — most standard installs complete quickly, often in as little as one day.

Step 1: Design

What you'll do

Open the Design Studio on the website. You'll see a live shower visualizer pre-loaded with the most popular combination. From there you can:

  • Browse 120+ Bellatone wall-panel variants — marble, stone, subway-tile look, smooth, textured
  • Mix patterns (e.g., one pattern on the back wall as an accent, a coordinating one on the surrounds)
  • Pick a hardware finish — polished chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, brushed gold
  • Choose a door style — semi-frameless, frameless, walk-in entry
  • Add accessories — built-in bench, grab bars, niches, slip-resistant base

What you'll see

A live, interactive preview of a standard shower with your selections. This is the configuration step, not your bathroom yet — but it lets you see how patterns, hardware, and accessories combine before we render your actual space.

How long it takes

Most homeowners spend 10–30 minutes in the studio. There's no time pressure, no account required, and you can come back as many times as you want.

Step 2: Preview

What we need from you

To render the preview against your real bathroom, we need:

  • One clear photo of the current shower or tub area — phone camera is fine, lit room, taken from the doorway
  • Approximate dimensions if you have them (we'll confirm exact measurements at the in-home visit)
  • Your contact info — name, email, and phone, so we can deliver the rendering and follow up if you want to schedule

That's it. No fees, no upfront pricing decisions, no account creation.

What you'll get back

A hand-rendered preview of your real bathroom with the shower configuration you chose — wall pattern, hardware, door, accessories — all in place. You can request adjustments (different pattern, different hardware finish, different door) and we'll re-render.

How long it takes

Typically 1–3 business days for the first preview. Adjustments are faster.

Step 3: Free in-home estimate

What happens during the visit

Once you've seen the preview and you're interested in moving forward, we'll schedule a free in-home estimate. A consultant comes to your home and walks through:

  • Precise measurements of the existing tub or shower area
  • Visible plumbing condition — supply lines, drain, valve placement
  • Subfloor inspection (where accessible) and a clear allowance for repair if needed
  • Final material selection — confirm the wall pattern, hardware, door, and accessories from the preview
  • Exact pricing — written, itemized, valid for the time we tell you (not "today only")
  • Financing options if you want them
  • Timeline — when materials arrive, when the install happens

What doesn't happen

The high-pressure close. We won't ask you to sign that day. We won't quote a "today-only discount" that disappears when you ask for time to think. We won't move on to a second consultant who tries to "save the deal." Our consultants don't work on commissions tied to closing on the visit, so there's no incentive to push you.

How long it takes

The in-home visit is typically 60–90 minutes.

Step 4: Install

Before install day

Materials are ordered after you've signed the agreement. Bellatone panels and hardware typically arrive within 2–4 weeks. We'll schedule the install once everything is on hand.

Install day

Most standard walk-in shower installs can be completed quickly — often in as little as one day after measurements and materials are ready. Bathrooms that need subfloor repair, plumbing relocation, or galvanized line replacement may run into a second day. The crew that arrives is our crew — we don't sub the install out.

What you get at completion

  • The finished shower, ready to use after a brief sealant cure
  • Walkthrough with the lead installer
  • Lifetime warranty on materials, in writing
  • Post-install support — call us if anything's off and we'll come back out

Why this process exists

Most homeowners shopping a bathroom remodel are doing it for the first or second time. Construction quotes feel opaque. Sample chips don't communicate scale or how patterns look in a real room. High-pressure sales calls feel manipulative — and they are.

The preview step exists because the decision should be made by someone who can actually see what they're buying. The in-home estimate exists because real construction needs real measurements. The "no signature required tonight" rule exists because remodeling a shower is a real decision and deserves a real amount of time.

If you want the broader context for the project as a whole, read the Seattle Walk-In Shower Guide. If you're ready to start, the Design Studio is the first step.
